1988 Citroën 2CV6 Dolly

This Citroën 2CV6 runs well, and I have enjoyed it for nearly 19 years! But it’s time to make more room in the garage.

I believe the paint is original; red and white in Dolly theme.

Registration says 1974 but I believe it is actually a 1988, with about 90,000 miles.

Right-hand drive, as it was originally sold in England, but no issue driving it in most parts of North America, and you get used to it very quickly.

The 602cc engine can get up to 110km/h which permits highway driving, although it’s more fun on secondary roads, with the top down and the breeze in your hair!

Roof was replaced a few years ago with a custom canvas. Recently installed electronic ignition and a new battery. I replaced the tires some years ago and they are still OK to drive on.

Easy to maintain as it’s a very simple car. Also a very pretty car that draws smiles and comments wherever you go.

A red and white English French car – could you get any more Canadian? It’s even great in the snow, with narrow tires and high ground clearance. Not that I would ever do that!

  1. There appears to be a 4 digit “ORGA” code on the firewall, which indicates the date of manufacture. It is in the top left corner of the photo of the engine. The first digit is partially cut off, but the last 3 are “134” . I suspect the full code is “4134” which gives a production date of 4 March 1988. I used the calculator on the cats-citroen.com site to translate the code to a date.
