The 25th World Meeting of the Friends of the 2CV took place from July 29 to August 3, 2025 in Postojna, a charming town just 25 km from the originally planned location in Vipava, Slovenia. The event was moved because of concerns about classic cars being in Vipava.
Organized by the Slovenian Citroën Club, which boasts over 500 members and a rich history of hosting such gatherings (including the 1995 meeting in Maribor), this event celebrated the iconic Citroën 2CV and other classic models like the Dyane, Ami, Mehari, and HY. A total of 325 volunteers (305 members of Citroën Club Slovenia and 20 non-members) worked hard to make this event possible. https://2cv2025.si/
This year, participation was slightly lower than at some past meetings, but still, 6,140 participants from 42 countries, arriving with 2,871 cars, is no small number! You can find detailed statistics here.
The program of the well organized event included:
- an opening ceremony
- multiple concerts each day
- games and motor skills workshops for children
- day trips of the region
- a huge parts market
- technical workshops, including the “Assembling the Engine” challenge
Though the meeting officially ended on Sunday morning, many attendees stayed an extra night to participate in the Raid Slovenia that started on Monday morning.

If you would like to experience the event from a participant’s perspective, check out this video that Dee Jay Serge made who drove 3,081 km across Europe to the meet. It captures the highlights of the road trip: scenic routes, the charm of traveling in a vintage 2CV, and the unique atmosphere of the world’s biggest 2CV gathering.
