Florida French Car Meet Report

By Chad Rogers…..

Once again, our Florida French Car Meet, held this year on June 19, proved to be a really great event. Though it was very hot & dry outside, Francois Brun-Wibaux hosted the entire event inside his private air conditioned French Car Museum in Bradenton with an incredible complementary buffet of wine, beer, and light but plentiful French fare catered by a local French restaurant owner who happens to be restoring a 2CV himself.

Francois & his family hosted in excess of 70 folks who attended and own, or at least appreciate, French cars.  One of the families joining included the son of André Garnier — Alain Garnier; quite an honor!  In fact, it seemed like quite a reunion of folks from all-over Florida and South Georgia.

I’m guessing we had 8 Citroëns and a couple other French makes, plus a few Ferrari, Maserati’s and Porches.   All this was in addition to Francois’ personal collection of 40+ French vehicles.

I think Mr. & Mrs. Andt Kobylinski drove the farthest from Palm Coast in their SM; over 200 miles!  Sam Scribner of Maitland deserves an honorable mention for driving all the way from Maitland, Florida in his 2CV6.

Again, a huge thanks goes out to Francois Barun-Wibaux for hosting this event, providing such a spectacular venue and complementary buffet!
