by George Dyke…..
I recently had the opportunity to tour the Mullin Automotive Museum in Oxnard California, an absolutely breathtaking display of primarily pre-war Art Deco French classic cars. I say primarily because just beyond an impressive row of race cars on the upper level sat a lovely 1983 France 3 2CV. How heartening it was to see that Peter Mullin reveres the 2CV along with his other automobiles such as Bugatti, Delahaye, Talbot-Logo, Hispano Suiza, Panhard, and Avion Voisin. (OK, there was a lovely Renault 4 near the 2CV as well.)

While I was there I was informed that starting on March 7 a new exhibit will feature Mr. Mullin’s Citroëns that he has been quietly collecting over years and many will be Henri Chapron models. Expect that to be an outstanding display. The exhibit will be called Citroën: The Man, The Marque, The Mystique. It will feature 46 Citroëns, covering a wide range of years and styles. Planned displays include a range of 2CVs (including a two-engine, four-wheel drive Sahara), an HY Van, a Traction Avant Cabriolet, contemporary C6 and C3 Pluriel models.
Semi-private tours will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and the exhibit is scheduled to run through the spring of 2018. To purchase tickets, or for more information on Citroën: The Man, The Marque, The Mystique, visit MullinAutomotiveMuseum.com.
You might be wondering if I visited the Peterson Automotive Museum while I was in the Los Angeles area. As a matter of fact I did, and there was an exhibit there of Peter Mullin’s “other Bugattis” that were not on display in Oxnard. Check out my pics to the Peterson Automotive Museum here:
