For more than a century, the Double Chevron has been inseparably linked with the history of Citroën. It has adorned radiators, dealerships, brochures and advertising campaigns, becoming one of the most recognizable symbols in the automotive world. With the newly published book “Iconique Double Chevron”, our friend Marc-André Biehler presents the first comprehensive study dedicated entirely to this remarkable emblem.
Across approximately 250 pages, the author traces the evolution of the famous Double Chevron from its origins around 1900 through to the present day. The book explores not only the visual development of the logo, but also its application on vehicles, dealership facilities, advertising material and press publications. Numerous previously unpublished documents and archive materials illustrate more than 125 years of Citroën history.
The project was supported by collectors and the Terre Blanche archives. The foreword has been written by Xavier Chardon, CEO of Automobiles Citroën, while Pierre Leclercq, Citroën’s Design Director, provides unique insights into the development of the current brand identity in a dedicated chapter.
Published in a bilingual French-English edition, the book contains more than 400 Citroën documents and illustrations. It has been produced by the association MaBiblioCitro, a member of the Amicale des Clubs Citroën & DS France.
For Citroën enthusiasts with an interest in design heritage, brand history and the evolution of automotive identity, this publication promises to be an outstanding addition to any collection.
