Paul Anderson Wins Preservation Class at Radnor Hunt Concours d’Elegance
Radnor Hunt is the home of a renowned Concours d’Elegance, just west of Philadelphia, PA. This nationally recognized motorcar event, an elegant classic car invitational on the historic grounds at Radnor Hunt Club was held from September 11—13, 2026.
Paul Anderson acquired a very original first-year production 1975 CX 2000 Super in 2025. The Super designation includes front power windows, tachometer, adjustable driver’s seat height and other enhancements. The 1975 models are often considered to be the purist expression of the intent of the design team led by Robert Opron.
Paul won Preservation Class in the Concours d’Elegance.
Color is Beige Vanneau (AC083) with a Caramel fabric interior. Paint is original.
It has a 4-speed manual transmission, the 1,985cc engine and Hydropneumatic suspension. Steering is manual as power steering was not available until 1976.
The car features the full wheel covers and the valence panel under the rear bumper that were originally used only on the CX2200. The original small hubcaps remain with the car. The original owner’s manual was signed by Mr. Opron in 2011.
Ownership History
1975 – 2010 — Mr. A. G. Vermeulen, The Netherlands. First registered July 17, 1975; license plate number 04 GK 85. When he sold it in 2010 it had just under 40,000 kms
2010 – 2020 — Mark Boeding, The Netherlands. Mark is a Citroën enthusiast and reversed some modifications that the first owner had made. Mark’s goal was originality and preservation. The car had 45,872 kms when he sold it.
2020 – 2025 — Douglas Freeman, Tarrytown, New York. Douglas passed way in 2021 and the car was sold by his widow
2025 — Paul Anderson, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. When received by Paul it had 46,070 kms (less than 29,000 miles)
The CX was in nice shape when Paul got it, but it needed a fair amount of mechanical work and cleaning:
Paul says that the Radnor Hunt Concours d’Elegance was a great show, with lots of interest in the CX. He had 3 groups of judges come by to assess the car and although none were CX experts, they all asked really good questions.
The logo of the show is a fox, so that is what is featured on the preservation award statue.
