1973 Citroën SM

This Citroën SM is white over black leather with a 3.0-liter Maserati V6 with three-speed automatic transaxle. The car has been in California, Kentucky, New York and now Toronto.

The single-spoke steering wheel frames Jaeger gauges including a tachometer and a five-digit odometer that shows 54k miles.

It was repainted in 2013, and touched up in 2018. The car is rust-free.

The SM was fitted with a replacement headliner, seat upholstery, gray carpets, and window mechanisms previously, and a new dash pad was installed in 2004.

The engine was rebuilt in 2004 by SM World in California and received an additional overhaul in 2013 by Excelsior Motors in Kentucky, which involved disassembly and cleaning as well as replacement of a piston, two cylinder sleeves, several seals, and the timing chain as well as cylinder head rebuilds with new exhaust valves. The transaxle and associated components were replaced 2016 by Citroën specialist Dave Burnham, among other work. A top-end rebuild was carried out in the past five years. Recent service included replacement of the cam cover gaskets and steering rack, axle CV boots, engine oil pipes, and thermostat seal, replaced a suspension stop, rear brake calliper rebuilds, replacement of the brake accumulator, electrical work, and more.

Extensive additional records dating to 2004 are included in the sale along with owner’s and shop manuals, three sets of keys, and a small collection of spare parts.

Asking $45,000 CAD or best offer. Location: Toronto, Canada.
