Citroënvie member Mike Lett in British Columbia’s interior brought to our attention 2 recent ads on Kijiji for Citroën D model barn finds. One lists 2 Safari wagons. The other a DS21 sedan. Both merit serious consideration and here’s why:
D wagons are getting very rare, and although this one looks rather driven, it doesn’t appear too rotted. At $1,500 CDN these are probably a really good buy. Even if the one claimed to be good turns out to be a parts car you’ve got 2 parts cars for $750 a piece!
The ad copy says: Citroën Station Wagons – 1960’s vintage for sale and sold as a pair. First one looks like you could drive her away.second is a parts car. Extra engines and trannys .Located in Parksville. I don’t know the year or model at this point in time.the red one apparently drove into the shed under its own power and was turned off and there she sits.probably wouldn’t take too long to get running and drive out of the shed .both are for parts or restore .
With this DS21 sedan, at least they managed to put down a tarp over the dirt floor before they abandoned it. If that leather interior is as good it looks (i.e. no cracks). For $2,000 CDN the car is definitely worth saving. Plus you get a set of turning headlights that are worth $1K alone!
The ad copy says: Barn Find driven into shelter over 25 years ago. Complete Car. Tan Leather Interior is in excellent condition. Restoration or parts car. Pewter Colour is not original, Semi-Automatic. Chase, BC. Call Joe at 250 679-7758 to discuss details.
Mike says he has his hands full putting 2 Tractions of his back on the road. So if anyone is interested…..
