RM | Sotheby’s Open Roads auction from April 21 – 29, 2021 will feature 2 Citroëns; a 1969 ID19 Cabriolet and a 1972 SM. Here’s what we know so far:

1969 Citroën ID19 Cabriolet
Est: €70,000 – €90,000 EUR
Lot Location: Brusaporto, Italy
Chassis No. 8165059

• Believed to have been converted to a cabriolet by Tissere
• Fitted with new interior trim and carpets following its cabriolet conversion from an IS Break (estate)
• Functioning hydraulic suspension, owner reports that it drives beautifully
• Previously registered in Belgium
• Accompanied by a new spare roof mechanism worth approximately €1,000

We strongly suggest reading this guide before bidding or even considering this cabriolet: https://citroenvie.com/a-guide-to-acquiring-a-ds-convertible/

1972 Citroën SM
Est: $50,000 – $60,000 USD

There are a few factors that should keep bidding down on this SM:
• Baked steering wheel
• US spec .
• No hood heat pad
• Non-Michelin tires (actually Firestone – yuck)
• Rusty driver’s door bottom
• Hideous red interior
