Look carefully and you’ll notice that this 1974 Dyane has been given the “CX Prestige” treatment. The rear doors have been lengthened about 4″ to give additional rear seat legroom.
It’s a one off… and judging by the somewhat shoddy bodywork — home-built. Still, you have to admire the effort, even the custom length roll-back roof!

Although they don’t show the underside, presumably the guy lengthened the frame as well. That’s a lot of work for about 4″ of rear legroom!
What is even more fascinating is the front end. The hood and the fenders are welded together as one and the entire front flips forward — Jaguar XKE style! That took a bit of doing.

For a moment, I thought it was Ken Hanna’s car . A Diane with which I am very familiar. Ken Hanna is the designer of the famous SLC galvanized chassis of which I have sold quite a few in the United States over the years. Ken is also a master mechanic. And if the transmission was rebuilt by Rick Pembro, the driveline would be a very sound package indeed 🙂
