A Citroën CX That Really Floats!

Booy Kamfibie (or maybe we should call him Buoy) in The Netherlands wanted to experience a truly floating ride in his Citroen CX Break. So, beyond the hydropneumatic suspension in the car, he decided to convert it into an amphibian camper.

As he tells it on his website kamfibie.com/, he is a hobbyist with a good dose of imagination and creativity who started this project in 1996 and is currently working on it again.

After the conversion of his CX into a roadworthy camper, he spent considerable time making it float — an effort that resulted in it being waterproof since 2003. However, after 2 years of doing all kinds of sea trials, the project came to a standstill due to a move, a birth and all kinds of odd jobs.

Now he says its time to push the project forward and the the plan is to extend the bottom to bring the speed in the water to a somewhat acceptable level.

Check out the progress on his website, and if you feel like it, let him know what you think in his guestbook.
