The DS Automobiles brand within Stellantis announced this week that commencing in 2024, all new models offered by DS Automobiles will be manufactured exclusively with 100% electric powertrains.
“The automotive industry is undergoing a change of unprecedented scale and speed,” explained Béatrice Foucher, CEO of DS Automobiles. “At the forefront, DS Automobiles has anticipated this transformation with electrification at the heart of its strategy. The next changes in legislation and developments in the EV ecosystem offer opportunities that we want to offer to our customers, who already approve of our electrified range. I made the decision to accelerate its development to create a new art of 100% electric travel, desirable in terms of pleasure and remarkable in terms of quality and performance; a new art of travel, resolutely technological and always so refined. It is a daring plan that will take shape in 2024. “
Since 2019, DS Automobiles has produced electrified versions of each of its models. Today DS Automobiles markets the 100% electric DS 3 CROSSBACK E-TENSE, as well as the DS 4 E-TENSE, DS 7 CROSSBACK E-TENSE and DS 9 E-TENSE in plug-in hybrid versions.
From 2024 each new model of the brand will therefore be offered exclusively in a 100% electric version, and that will begin with the new DS 4. DS Automobiles will also present a new creation, which will launch the 100% electric program of Stellantis based on the new STLA MEDIUM platform. This future model will be equipped with a high capacity battery (up to 104 kWh) and will offer up to 700 km of autonomy.
The brand’s involvement in the FIA Formula E Championship, which it has already won twice and in which it is involved until 2026, will continue to drive DS Automobiles’ electrical program by acting as a technological laboratory for the development of its production models.
