Peterson Automotive Museum ‘Duck’ Ousted From the Nest

A 1964 2CV appeared on Bring a Trailer today that is being auctioned off from the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. It is described as a non-running project car that has been stored in their underground vault for the last five years.

Obviously intended as a car for display from afar, it was given an exterior paint job and some seat coverings and tires, but nothing else. The engine does not run, the floors need to be replaced – even the body paint was a rush job as seen here:

Needs new front floors at the very least.

The front turn lights were added at some point, but surely they could have found something innocuous. These are absolutely hideous!

As one of the commentators sucsinctly put it; “Restored drivers in much better shape can be had for the mid-teens. This one exists in that nether-region where restoring it would cost more than it’s worth.”

We wonder where this poor little ducky will go?

Update 2/28/19: Sold on Bring a Trailer for $7,800 US.
