Citroën Recognition In Touggourt Algeria

Citroënvie member Geoff Miller took these pictures in the town of Touggourt Algeria, while on vacation in Africa this week. This monument commemorates the first Trans Sahara crossing with Citroëns in December 1922 and January 1923.

We refer to it today as the 1922–1923 Trans-Sahara Expedition where five 10-horsepower B2 type trucks were specially prepared for the trek.

These photos go to show how André Citroën, the expedition and its participants, are still revered there.
