DS Automobiles Presents the New DS4

DS Automobiles has lifted the veil on the second generation of the DS 4, a model intended for the C-Premium segment which will be available in three versions: DS 4, DS 4 CROSS and DS 4 PERFORMANCE LINE.

“DS 4 is designed to redefine the main lines of the C-Premium segment”, explains Marion David, Product Director of DS Automobiles. “It is aimed at customers attracted by two types of bodywork: the new aspirational SUV-Coupé and traditional compact sedans. At each stage of its design, the idea of being attractive in these two segments guided our choices.”

With styling inspired by the AERO SPORT LOUNGE, the new DS 4 has larger dimensions and proportions never seen in its segment. It is 4.40 meters long and 1.83 meters wide, has a roof height of 1.47 meters and is fitted with large wheels (up to 20 inch rims).

The DS MATRIX LED VISION system, which combines matrix and directional lights, is integrated into its new light signature, while at the rear, widened fenders and a very inclined bezel help to assert the dynamic character of the model. A new light signature is also present on the back, with a progressive effect of laser-engraved scales. Seven body colours will be available; copper gold, lacquered grey, crystal pearl, platinum grey, velvet red, pearl white and pearl black.

The DS 4 CROSS version offers a special treatment of various bodywork elements in glossy black finish (upper frames of the side windows, radiator grille, etc.) as well as the distinctive rims. The DS 4 PERFORMANCE LINE is equipped with a black exterior finish with a black pack (DS WINGS, bar between taillights, grille and side window frames) and characteristic black rims, in addition to an exclusive interior.

The new DS 4, which is built around an evolution of the EMP2 platform, has several engines to choose from, including a plug-in hybrid group developing 225 horsepower. This is articulated around a supercharged 180 horsepower 4-cylinder petrol engine coupled to a 110 horsepower electric motor integrated into the e-EAT8 gearbox. Powered by a large capacity battery, it provides a range of over 50 km in zero emission mode (WLTP combined cycle). 130, 180 and 225 horsepower PureTech petrol versions as well as a 130 horsepower BlueHDi Diesel version will also be offered, all associated with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

On the interior side, the new DS 4 receives top-of-the-range finishes and continues the DS “diamond” theme in switches and upholstery established in the DS brand range. DS claims that cutting-edge technologies, and in particular the head-up display offers a first step towards augmented reality, the information essential for driving being directly projected onto the road four meters in front of the windshield. It is associated with the 10-inch infotainment system with voice and gesture control located on the center console.

Numerous driving aids complete this offer, including level 2 semi-autonomous driving with DS DRIVE ASSIST 2.0 (cruise control, semi-automatic overruns, speed adaptation in curves and advance speed recommendation signs).

The new DS 4 pricing will be announced when it becomes available in the fourth quarter of 2021.
