Two Citroën board games can be yours, whether you are at home with the family under the Covid-19 restrictions or just want to have something to do with family and friends on a rainy day.
We wrote about a new Citroën themed board game, The Great race, back on January 2, 2020, that is set to debut this spring. Further progress has been made and prototype versions having actually been played and a Kickstarter campaign has now launched to begin online pre-orders.
The Great Race is set in 1930s, where you are at the wheel of your Citroën Kegresse (caterpillar) and trekking across Africa and other continents as, like with the original Citroën Expeditions of the era. You and your crew made up of mechanics, scouts and an escort have to mobilize and accomplish the impossible.
More info on the game can be found here. And if you would like order one, here is the Kickstarter link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thegreatrace/the-great-race-1
Last year Citroën offered their version of Monopoly in collaboration with HASBRO, based on the same rules as the original Monopoly board game. Although it is played in the same way, the players buy Citroën vehicles (2CV, 5 HP, Traction, New C5 Aircross SUV, etc.) instead of streets in like Boardwalk and Park Place. The Railroads are replaced by concept cars: Activa 1, C-Métisse, GT by Citroën and CXPERIENCE.
The traditional utilities are replaced by fuel and insurance companies and the usual penalty charges and bills are replaced by paid parking and motorway tolls.
You can purchase it online at the Citroën Lifestyle Boutique: https://lifestyle.citroen.com/en/shop/_/pr5318/citroen-origins-monopoly. The price is €50.00, but there is a catch – they seem to ship to Europe only. Make contact with a friend over there and they will at least ship-to that address for free!
